500 million years ago, one of the purest crystalline magnesite deposits on earth was formed in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, near Radium Hot Springs in British Columbia, Canada.

The deposit was discovered in 1966 and diamond core drilling in the early 1970s proved reserves in excess of 50 million tonnes of high-quality magnesite ore.

Baymag’s state of the art production facilities are located in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains in Exshaw Alberta. Magnesite ore from the mine site is converted into magnesium oxide (MgO) utilizing best in class calcination technology that minimizes  energy consumption.

Current total capacity of Baymag’s three calciners is 150,000 metric tonnes per annum.
